NDA is currently leading with 263 seats- 9 seats short of the halfway mark. UPA, on the other hand, currently has 139 seats. Talking in terms of parties, BJP’s tally currently stands at 222 seats while Congress’ tally is down to 95.
In terms of gains and losses over the past six weeks (Feb week four to April week two), the BJP has managed to maintain a roughly stable tally with an increase of 10 seats while Congress has lost 15 seats. It is clear that BJP has managed to sustain the leading momentum after surgical strikes which further went up as the election campaigning progressed.
